I've seen people put the 2.5s on an Ecoboost and the 2.0s on a Powerboost... has anyone installed the 2.5s on their Powerboost? Wondering if they had to make any additional adjustments and how the ride felt afterward. Thanks!

Also, if you've heard anything about Fox shipping an "official" 2.5 for the 21+ MYs that would be much appreciated!

Hey there. I just installed the fox 2.5 front and rear on my Powerboost today. I bought the 15-20 kit from stage3 and dealt with frank. Great guy to talk through the purchase. The springs that come with the coilovers are eibach 550 lb. I had to adjust the colar on the coil over to get 2" of lift. I adjusted them on the truck with spring compressors. Originally there were 3/8" of thread showing and I bumped it up to 7/8". This gave me the 2" lift. I have maintained 1" rake but expect that to increase slightly as the shocks settle in.

The ride is great so far. Very compliant on the road. I have both high and low speed compression settings half way at the moment and will adjust more as I take it off road.

I'll take some pics of the truck when it's light out.

I've considered this for the rear shocks on my '21 PB since I feel like the Fox 2.0 damping is completely wrong for this truck due to the heavy leaf springs. I was thinking that with the 2.5's I could dial/tune it a bit better. My truck with the 2.0's has a LOT of wheel hop when the bed is empty.

@Papp thanks for sharing! Great looking truck. Did you talk with Fox regarding any recommended adjustments for the PB? Also, what size tires are you running and is there any rake or completely level? Sorry for all the questions 😁

@RickBullotta I have the same feeling about the 2.0 on the PB. In fact I have the 2.0 sitting in my garage but I’m leaning towards the 2.5. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! I did not. I am playing with the settings now. Middle of the clicks for road seem to be good so far. The rear doesn't jump around anymore when there's chatter in the road so, the 2.5's with these settings are keeping the rear at bay.

@Papp, I contacted Fox and they recommended the 2020 2.5 coil overs and shocks for the '21 PB, so all good on that front. They also said they expect to have new 2.5s specifically for MY21+ by the end of this year/beginning of next year. Now I need to decide if I go with the 2020 2.5s now or wait for the new ones

This is exactly what I'm looking for as well! Interested in any impressions compared to stock. I'm also looking to stay with a non-LT rated tire.

When you say 7/8" showing, I assume you mean from the top of the collar correct?

I would say ride is a little more compliant than stock especially over larger bumps. Not much offroading yet. Will be off road soon. I didn't have much time on the stock suspension so it's really hard to compare.

There is 7/8" thread showing from top of adjustable collar ring.

@Papp any updates on your experience with the Fox 2.5 setup? I'm thinking about finally pulling the trigger. Thanks!

@YzermanTopShelf Nice looking truck. I can add my brief experience with the Fox 2.5.

I have them on my 21 PB, leadfoot Lariat, coincidentally. I've put 1000 miles on them and the previous owner (Not sure if he is on this site) put 10k miles on them. They still look new, no signs of corrosion. I've previously run Bilstein shocks and the Fox feel similar: well damped on bigger bumps, potholes, etc. Perhaps a little sharper on the small stuff, but that might be from the LT Ridge Grapplers.

Mine are set with 3/4" of thread above the collar in the front. That's 38.75" from ground to the bottom of the front fender and 40.75" in the rear (max tow). So not leveled, but improved clearance up front and lost some of the OEM max tow jacked-up look.

Overall, I'm happy with the setup and at the moment I don't think I would change anything.
