There are a couple of updates being pushed out now to prepare trucks for the 3.x.x software that is coming soon. There are two updates like this with no revision number on them. One is for the GWM and the other is for the APIM.

According to the Ford Power Up wiki, the updates for 3.x.x have been out since July. However, it is only now that I have seen people reporting in the forums that they have started to receive the updates that prepare you for the 3.x.x updates, which according to the wiki, have been out since June.

FYI, I just received this same update, and my SYNC4 is v4.0.22095. Not sure of the version prior to this latest update.

Got the same notification in the App. I am on 22095 Rev 421, so it cant be talking about that since its a old one from March. I think most of us are just waiting for 3.2.1\3.3.1 with the Android Auto can be expanded to fill more of the display being turned on. I really wish Ford would update quicker. That is my only complaint. They have the beta program, but I am still on the waiting list 1 year later.

I just got this update too while driving home from work. It booted me out of CarPlay unexpectedly.

A member on F150forum who is very knowledgeable on these things did some comparing on the software from 2.8.2 and 2.8.3 and these updates noticed some similarities. He believes these updates may be revisions to 2.8.2 and/or 2.8.3; possible bug fixes or what not.

I just received this exact update yesterday myself. I have yet to find a definitive answer as to where this is going, but at least my truck started and everything still worked after the update. I had to leave it with the dealership today for my whiney transmission and bucking uphill, but those problems were already present.

According to the Ford Power Up wiki,
Remember that the info there comes from Mach-E and Lightning owners, so it doesn't necessarily mean the same thing for the ICE F-150. Also it doesn't clarify the difference in versions between 21 and 22 ICE F-150.

Well aware, which is why I say "according to". lol With all fairness, the wiki does have the updates that only pertain to the Mach-e's, Lightning's and F150's separated when an update is exclusive to only one or two of the vehicles. It is a good reference point, though, and as more info becomes available, hopefully it will get updated accordingly.

Where this is going is that Ford appears to be prepping the trucks for the next major round of OTA updates— Power-Up 3.X.X. The update posted above modifies the GWM. That update unlocks a small update to the APIM which should follow shortly. The upcoming 3.X.X substantive updates can be found on the NHTSA website under manufacturer communications. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10217136-0001.pdf. Whether everything described in the document Ford filed with NHTSA applies to the F-150, the Lightning, or both is unclear but the document was filed in the non-Lightning collection. As @hotrodmex noted above, the Wiki is pretty much useless for identifying potential updates for the standard, non-Lightning F-150.

Someone is finally doing work on that page, because it's gotten better from even the last time I saw it with the models divided up. I think it still needs ICE separate from EV, but suppose the communications to the NHTSA just show the "F-150" when it's for EV or ICE, so maybe it really doesn't matter.
