So I did some more digging and my build date is March 5th. It is also being built at the Dearborn plant so hopefully shipping isn't too bad.
Where did you do the digging to find out your build date?

So here was the response I got from my dealer as to what is delaying my build.

"What is holding up your order the most is the interior work surface. There is a high commodity control on that part and only a small percentage of all trucks (15%) are allowed to get it. You could have your order sped up sooner if you remove that option."

So I guess I have to decide to I want the option or the truck sooner.

can anyone confirm if co pilot ASSIST 360 is available on XLTs in canada.

i got the 360 cam but looking at the build list and on build and price it doesn’t look like the Assist is available until you get to a lariat.

Yes, but you have to take the 360 camera too. It's only an add-on via the dealership. It's not in the ford build. Here is my vin if you want to use the tracker to see the specs and window sticker.

that’s awesome thank you. i don’t think i optioned it then because i thought it was standard on the 302a with 360. no big deal i have it on my honda and never use it anyways i was just curious.

also as if i just followed up with my dealer. ended up getting a vin! good day.

thanks!

so. got my vin. but no window sticker. any idea how long that takes or does it need to be “in production” before it generates a window sticker

What is everyone putting down for deposits on custom orders? My dealer took a $2,500 non-refundable deposit back in November, and I’m wondering if this is typical of Canadian Ford dealers.

Dude!!! No way! Hope you shopped around. I put down $1000, fully refundable. Most dealers I spoke with wanted $500-1000.

Which dealership did you go with? I’m in the Calgary area as well.

Metro Ford. They were the only dealer in Calgary I spoke with that would even place an order for me back in November. I spoke with 3 other dealerships that told me they would have to look into it, and then just never called me back.

Fair enough. Can’t give your business to people that don’t want it. I felt the same with some of the dealerships in Calgary that I dealt with. I ended up buying outside of the city. Good ol’ small town dealerships want your business.

Mine said they want a 10% deposit on custom orders. When we balked at that ($7k) he asked what we'd be comfortable with, said $3k he asked his manager and we were good to go. We ordered mid-Jan got the vin 3 days later and now have a blend date of Feb 24. Everything's lining up with what they told us so I'm not too worried.

3K! that’s insane. they WILL sell every truck that comes onto the lot. what’s their concern nobody will buy it?

He said our build is a bit unusual http://www.windowsticker.forddirect.com/windowsticker.pdf?vin=1FTFW1E83MFA96366

Apparently most people don't want a 6.5' box around here, and if they're getting max tow and mirrors it's on a lower trim.
I was going to ask what your build was, because that would be the only justifiable reason. A 6.5’ bed would be harder to sell, with the Supercrew. About 90% of Supercrews that sell are the short bed 5.5k’. So now that makes more sense.

We wanted to put a quad in the box so we needed a 6.5. The moment we said supercrew with a 6.5 he said it would have to be a custom order. The sales guys aren't on commission there (think they get a flat rate per vehicle sold) so they're easy to deal with.
