Rust on rear end of 2021 F-150 -- any others?

Which dealership Dan? I would be interested to see the amount of rust - you may find.

I looked at 20 last week at dealer and none had this and the paint coating was shiny and new.

Took this picture last night from the driver's side, looking towards the rear showing a different view of the pumpkin. I don't really have time to be crawling around under the truck, brushing, cleaning and spraying corrosion inhibitor, so I'm curious as to what other's are hearing from their dealers about this.

And, @currybob you did say to check this out - but it was soooo cold when I was in Granger Iowa, I really didn't want to get on my knees!

The early builds were run back and forth from one storage area to who knows where else. No doubt with salt on the roads, completely covering the underside. As I mentioned, my truck had something like 63 miles on it when I picked it up. I still would not expect as much rust as what some of our trucks have.

Fixable? Absolutely!

Who should fix it? No doubt Ford should cover the cost to put it back to what is expected.

Replace parts? Don't see that happening nor would I want that to happen to my new truck. The rust is not deep but excessive and should be cleaned and painted to the degree it is protected.

Wow... That's bad, probably the worst I've seen on this thread. In some cases it appears the rust started on parts before they were put on the truck, but yours appears to have happened afterwards.

Well except I'm still not driving it till they get the 02 sensor in.

That is sooooooo nice compared to the numeruous rust issues that have been presented!!! The factory found a fully painted rear end and maybe this will be a new trend. Can you provide your build date and which factory your truck was built at? There is also a bar code on the axle I haven't noticed on other pictures, potentially a different supplier??? Thx

I think Ford manufactures their own axles at the Sterling Axle Plant in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

Mine had a bar code on it. Had to treat below it because of a little rust. Lol
