I called to confirm this. I wasn’t aware that they made at 275/65/20. Has anyone ran this? If so your thoughts?

I was considering these tires and my tire guy said not to get them

He said they have had nothing but bad luck with them.

I havent ran them but his warning was enough to make me not want to.

Considering some Ridge Grapplers though. He said nothing but positve feedback on those..

Not doubting your tire guy, but didn't Nitto just release these like two weeks ago?

Just a thought... Perhaps he was speaking to the Recons in general. The 275/65R20 SL Recon tire is not yet on the Nitto site and I have only seen them on Discount's for less than a month as I have looking very closely for an alternate to the SL Terra Grappler in this size for the non-towing months.
Maybe need some better data points...

I’d recommend Cooper Rugged Treks in a 275/60r20. These tires are about 1/2 inch larger at 33.5 than others tires in this size rating and come in SL. So, you’d only be giving up about a half inch in diameter. Look great and reviews are excellent as well. There’s been some discussion on the forum about them if you search. Something to think about…

I had some Trail Grapplers and now Ridge Grapplers on my Tacoma. All LT of course. Buddy ordered me a set of 285/65/20 LT Recon Grapplers for my imaginary 2022 Lariat that have just been sitting in his shop. I have been by a couple times just to say hello to them.

I’m running 295/60/20 Nitto Recon Grapplers and they have been great thus far. I only have about 1,000 miles on them as the truck is brand new. I’ve run Terra Grapplers & Ridge Grapplers on my previous truck and liked them both.

I actually scored a full set of barely used 275/65r20s 116s G2s from eBay for a ridiculous price.

My tire guy told me I have to keep them in my garage for my imaginary 22 Lariat though. Maybe someday they’ll get mounted to the 601s in the basement and put on a real 22 Lariat.

Those look great. I see a lot of people running 295’s. Other than looks, any additional benefits versus the 275?
