Do the 360 cameras function when the mirrors are folded? This could be useful in tight spaces, especially with tow mirrors.

Thanks.

I have looked at closeups on the superduty (where they review the ultimate 360 camera package that we now get on '21 F150) and on the tow mirrors, the camera is on the fixed portion of the tow mirror. So I plan to fold mine and use the camera 360 to park with ease.

On the regular mirrors, the camera is on the folding portion of the mirrors. So I don't know if those version will be SOL when wanting 360 view in folded position.

I know you are wrestling with that massive $$$ hit now for the tow mirrors (adding tow package) but hope this helps as an added data point.

Yes! I just turned on my 360 cameras and folded the drivers side mirror in and out. The mirror camera stays on, even when fully folded.

Regular mirrors or tow mirrors? I wondered if the software compensates for the rotation on the regular mirrors...

Sorry, should have said that I have regular mirrors on my truck.

Oh that's awesome! So the image doesn't change at all while it is in the fold process?
It is pretty cool. The image does change as you move the mirror to and fro.

I know its such a small thing but I would love to see a video of this in action. Like literally NO ONE has shared this before. Unless I just haven't come up with the right search terms

Here’s a short clip. I fold the mirror in and out twice.
Sorry, see next post. I messed up. ?

Ok I see. So they *continue functioning* but you lose the parallel line to the truck avatar on the screen. So it is not as useful as the ones on the tow mirrors where the camera stays put.

Thanks, you are a pioneer in filmmaking! :)

No problem. I rather suck at filmmaking, but thought I’d try to show how it works.

All good!

You brought out something I didn't know was a change for my tow mirrors, thanks for that! That will be useful.

That does appear to be a sharp left, right into the wall......
