Added blackout Ford emblem / front camera washer / jet sprayer to my 23' Lariat

Today I installed the Ford performance blackout emblem on the front of my truck by simply installing the jet sprayer that holds onto the square washer cover.

I will eventually purchase the tubing and make it functional, but for now I was able to install the emblem I wanted.

For years I have come to this forum to get valuable information so I wanted to share this hoping maybe it would help somebody out there.

I learned of this deletion after the purchase. I purchased the Ford performance emblem kit and didn't think nothing of it until the dealership told me I didn't have the washer. Not only was this new information to my local dealership it was also new information to one of the guys over at Fairway Ford parts in Ohio. Luckily, by them using the same bracket it can easily be added. It definitely wasn't on my window sticker.

After 32 years in auto retail and majority with Ford, we used to be able to make a parts claim for mis-build UNLESS YOU WERE INFORMED AND CREDITED (despite the credit being always insufficient for parts replacements). I believe it’s worth investigating.

That is interesting. Apparently some 23s have the washer and some don't. On my window sticker I do have the credit for the heated steering wheel and the third brake light camera. I'll add I have been curious if I have heated mirrors as there is a rumor that I may not... That to me is unacceptable because nowhere on my window sticker doesn't say that.

As you can see, I have the Putco front emblem so I am familiar with the washer/camera components. Mine was bought through Ford Authorized Accessories (before I knew Putco made them). Only difference is the initial light "dance" is not enabled on the Ford supplied unit, which is easily fixed by grounding the green wire, so I now have to remove the grill again to modify, a real PITA!

Ill check the mirror tomorrow morning. Thanks. They do have a plug and play adapter now that connects the emblem to the headlights. That solves the issue where people didn't want them on all the time and only on with the headlights. It looks like they make an LED and a halogen version.

So I don't know if I have heated mirrors either. Do they still have the little symbol on them if they do. I've had heated mirrors on past vehicles but they had the symbol on glass. Which button turns them on to check it.
