That would eat into their profilts because they would have to pay livable American wages.That's crazy...
Makes me wonder how much of this could be avoided if Ford went back to manufacturing the majority of their own parts internally instead of relying on third party overseas vendors.

It isn't just overseas vendors and if you think getting what you need from overseas is a challenge, it's nothing compared to trying to get enough materials and workers to do it in the US. Auto companies are revered by the press as the ultimate in engineering capabilities but beyond design and basically bolting stuff together they are not where most of the real high tech capability exists.That's crazy...
