Hello again, friends! I finally got my Line-X bed liner a few weeks back and wanted to share my experience with you all!
Some of you all may have found that the Line-X material (as with everything else these days) was in short supply, so I had to wait a couple of months to find a supplier to have it installed.
A couple of Line-X retailers in my area also told me that they would spray bed only, and not make any attempt to coat the tailgate, or tailgate jamb areas. Thanks to your all's threads, I learned that those area could be done if I found the right installer.
Here are a few photos of the empty truck bed before. Almost a little sad to see so much of the beautiful blue covered up!!
A small demo board of the Line-X product; standard versus premium coatings:
Here is a quick peek of how they do their work. The Line-X team essentially cordons off the truck bed area with a large plastic tarp/cover and does all of their prep work such as removing the tailgate, bolts, drain plugs, Ford's box link mounts, etc.
Looks like somebody was getting a fancy Ram TRX done up with the Line-X treatment too!
The finished product!! I opted for the Line-X Premium coating for my truck bed, and I think it came out AWESOME!!
I was impressed with the clean lines, and lack of overspray anywhere! It was apparent they really took their time on the preparations.
A quick shot of how it looks after being exposed to its first rainstorm!
Nighttime gloss!!
And the transaction wouldn't be complete without...... LINE-X SWAG!!
A few closing remarks for those of you guys wanting to have this done. It is a day long process. I dropped my truck off at Line-X at around 0700, and it was done at approximately 1500. The bed was ready to be put to use as soon as I picked it up.
Also a top tip, check your power tailgate!! I was giving my truck it's initial look over, I noticed my power liftgate would not work from the cab, or from the key fob. I went into a mini-panic thinking something was screwed up. It wasn't. Simply go into your truck's settings for the tailgate, and turn the "power" mode back on. I guess it likely got shut off when they removed the tailgate during the Line-X installation.
For those ladies and gentlemen in the North and Central Florida area, and are considering having Line-X installed on your F-150, I'd like to give kudos to Line-X of Volusia County. Derek answered all of my questions, and made me feel comfortable (well... as comfortable as I could be) turning my brand new truck over to have the liner installed. Derek and his team appeared very meticulous about their work, and did everything I expected. Their location near Daytona Beach is a hike, but was well worth it!
