This is one of the first videos I've seen showing Ford's Active Park Assist 2.0 on the 2021 F-150. Call me a little bit old school, but I believe if you're going to hold a license, you should be able to do slow speed maneuvers such as parallel and regular parking....

Nevertheless, watching the truck do both maneuvers itself as well as pulling itself out of its spot was damn impressive!

I was fully ready to teach my daughter how to parallel park her Ranger but was SHOCKED to find out that is not part of the license test anymore! So that is still on my list of "dad" things to do. She's just going to school and some errands for now but not gonna let her become an adult that can't parallel park!

Not surprised, but good on you for teaching her!

That video is insane ? I was dying laughing he is 100% right that's a cool as hell trick but I can't imagine being in san francisco where you can barely park an F150 anywhere and anyone giving the patience to let you slowly crawl while letting it detect a spot.

That being said, I'm very much looking forward to playing with it anyway!

Oh yea, I'm definitely going to use it as a "flex" as the kids say!

I agree that this is one of those things, though, that the technology isn't quite there yet. Hence, the ultra slow speed, and not quite being all the way into the spot. If you have the skillset to actually park, a driver can do it much more efficiently. I think this is one of those things we'll look back on in a couple years (if that), and see how much more advanced these systems have gotten, like a desktop computer.

While it was a tad gut-wrenching watching the truck navigate around other vehicles, I am happy to see it wasn't afraid to use ALL of the space it had rather than being programed to be too conservative and leave a country mile in between the truck and the object. Those feet and inches make a big difference when it counts and the space is tight!

What package does that come in? Is it only Platinum or above? I just ordered an XLT and didn't see it in the list of the the Pro-Pilot 360 2.0 items.

I tested it on the perpendicular park before my truck went out of service for the turn signal issue. Like others have said, it’s a neat trick and it works fine, but if you are in a hurry, do it yourself!

Nice for the handicapped driver. Except for the holding button on dash

It is part of the Co-Pilot 360 2.0 Active Prep package that equips the truck with the hardware for the autonomous driving. I think that package is only available on certain Lariats and up, but perhaps all Lariats have the option?

Great point. Yeah, I thought holding that button on the dash was tedious too.
Button should be near the shifter where a shot armed person could get to it naturally

Also, for getting to the parking spot, you don't need to crawl, it will work at normal driving speed, he decided to fin the spot slowly. My MKX had that feature and it gets real close, i almost always interrupted it before completion because i felt he was going to hit on every side lol. Always used for fun, never used in "real life" except once and got honked twice and my friend laughed at me

That is good question. I cannot find it listed anywhere on Ford's website either. I see the Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0, but nothing that seems to list what it includes. I found a few sources outside of Ford.com stating that the Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 "includes ten new driver assistance features" including the following:

  1. Active Drive Assist
  2. Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with stop and go
  3. Traffic Sign Recognition
  4. Intersection Assist
  5. Additional camera and RADAR hardware
  6. Pedestrian Detection
  7. Pre-collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
  8. Evasive Steering Assist
  9. Automatic On/Off and Automatic Dimming Headlights
  10. Active Park Assist 2.0 (last but not least!)
This is appears to be the list for the full safety suite for the Ford Co-Pilot 360 2.0 package. It was a little frustrating that it was easily viewable on Ford's website. However, here are the sources I found during my research:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/motori...launch-in-mustang-mach-e-this-year/49955/amp/

and

https://m.carsdirect.com/automotive...-2-0-technology-to-premiere-on-mustang-mach-e

along with a couple of independent Ford dealer websites as well.

To answer your question, it appears if your truck is equipped with the Co-Pilot 360 2.0 package, the Active Park Assist should be included.

I taught drivers education for 4-years and we still teach it in Iowa, at least where I am. Good for you!! Fred M>

I guess I'll have to go back to the dealer and look at a couple similar XLT trucks with CP360 2.0. If they have the button at the top of the center dash that should mean it is included. If not, well, back to square one!
